| Associated Students : San José State University Mission Statement Our mission is to represent the students of San José State University and continually improve the quality of their educational opportunities and experiences. |
||
| In 1897, Associated Students was founded to provide representation and services to students at San José Teachers College. Since then, the organization has evolved from a student club to a fully operational student government entity. Also, as an auxiliary to the University, we provide services that allow students to enhance their college experience. Originally, voluntary fees were first collected in 1910 to provide services and activities. By 1957, all students were paying a portion of their registration fees to support their student government organization. Associated Students was incorporated in 1980 and the Student Council also became the Corporation's Board of Directors |
