Eco Pass

AS Eco Pass for employees

For just $25, SJSU employees can enjoy unlimited rides on all Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) buses and Light Rail with AS Eco Pass throughout the Spring or Fall semester.

VTA buses and Light Rail operate throughout the South Bay. Express VTA bus service to SJSU is available from Fremont, Morgan Hill, San Martin and Gilroy.

AS Eco Pass is also valid for Outreach paratransit service for SJSU employees with disabilities who are unable to take bus or Light Rail.

AS Eco Pass is not valid on regional transit such as ACE, BART, Caltrain and Highway 17 Express. SJSU employees can buy regional transit tickets and passes with pre-tax dollars by participating in the Commuter Check program.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the sticker good for?

About 7 months. The validation period is printed on the sticker itself. There's no grace period.

When will the sticker for the next semester be available for purchase?

Two weeks before the start of every semester.

Can I buy the sticker at a pro-rated price?

No. However, $25 is still a great deal whenever you buy the sticker. The price is equivalent to a week's worth of VTA day passes.

I am also a student at SJSU also, can I get an AS Eco Pass free as a student?

Please visit the TS Center in the Student Union and the front counter staff will determine your specific eligibility.

Can I use Commuter Check to pay for the sticker?

No.

SJSU employees - How to get your AS Eco Pass?

Method 1: Pick up in person

Purchase your AS Eco Pass sticker for $25 at the Transportation Solutions Center. TS Center is located on the main floor of the Student Union, Room 235. The Center is open 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday during the regular semester. Your Tower Card (issued/reissued after the Summer of 2003) must be presented to pick up the sticker.

Method 2: Intracampus mail

To do so, please mail in 1) your business card or a sheet with your name, phone number, and return extended zip code, 2) a photocopy of the front side of your Tower Card (must be issued/reissued after the Summer of 2003), and 3) a $25 check or money order (payable to Associated Students Transportation Solutions) to the following address:

You can expect a reply within a week.

TS will not accept mail requests who do not meet any of the above criteria. Also, TS will not accept mail requests for replacements if you lost your Eco Pass sticker while in possession or if your sticker was stolen.
