Receiving AS Eco Pass sticker by mass mail

As a convenience to students, TS distributes the AS Eco Pass sticker by mass mail at the beginning of each Spring and Fall semester. Please look for the Associated Students/SJSU envelope for your sticker inside.

However, because not every student is eligible to receive the sticker by mail, TS is providing the following information on what to expect.

Mail Envelope

Who does TS send stickers to?   We send stickers to regularly enrolled students who have fully paid their campus fees and have a valid address in California* or a valid SJSU Housing mailbox.

If you live in a residence hall, check your on-campus housing mailbox at Joe West Hall for your sticker. If you did not receive it, then pick up at Transportation Solutions Center inside Student Union.

* We do not mail to students with addresses outside the Bay Area after the first day of classes.

Who does TS not send stickers to?   TS does not send the AS Eco Pass sticker by mass mail if you:
  • have not obtained your Tower Card
  • enroll under any fee waiver program (including over-60 program )
  • have a registered address outside of California
  • have a registered address outside of the Bay Area (applies only if you pay less than three weeks before classes start)
  • have a registered address that we mailed last semester but was returned from the Post Office
  • have a registered address that we mailed previously, but you came to pick up the sticker claiming that you did not receive the sticker by mail.
In these cases, you can either pick up your AS Eco Pass sticker in person at the TS Center or submit a request with a self-addressed stamped envelope .

If you have a fee deferral status, TS may mail only after the disbursement of financial aid. However you can pick up the sticker in person before the disbursement.

How can I check to see if the sticker is in the mail or that I can pick it up?   Please call TS at 408-924-7433 or email at transportation@sjsu.edu for current status.

How can I change my mailing address?   Please do not contact TS if you want to change your address. Instead change your address at MySJSU . TS will obtain a new address list from MySJSU for each mass mail batch. It is the student's responsibility to maintain an updated address with the University.

TS will not resend the AS Eco Pass to students whose mail was returned due to incorrect or outdated addresses.

How often you send out mail batches?   Every one or two weeks. We generally coincide our mail batches with the payment due dates set by the Bursar's Office.

Can I pick up the sticker at the TS Center instead?   If you plan to pay your University fees or get your Tower Card on campus, you can visit the TS center afterwards with your receipt and ID so that you do not have to wait. As long as we haven't sent you the sticker by mail, you can pick up the sticker at our center anytime.

You can also register on to the "No-mail" list at the TS Center, so that you can pick up the sticker anytime in future semesters and that we will no longer send you the sticker by mail.

Can I request the stickers to be always mailed to me no matter what?   Sorry, we are not able do that. You can instead mail in a request with self-addressed stamped envelope.

You sent me a sticker in the mail last semester, why not this semester too?   TS will drop students off the mailing list automatically if:
  • the student has picked up the AS Eco Pass sticker at the TS Center claiming that he or she did not receive the original AS Eco Pass sticker by mail, and that the student has the same address registered in MySJSU as the previous semesters.
or
  • the student's mail has been returned from the Post Office in the previous semester and the student has the same address registered in MySJSU as in that semester.
Because of the likelihood that these students will not receive their sticker again by mail in the future, TS will not mail to them in order to reduce the potential for abuse and allow them to pick up the Eco Pass sticker at the TS Center at their earliest opportunity.

Students who cannot pick up the sticker in person are welcome to submit a request through Self Address Stamped Envelope .
