Thomas Steinbeck:   In the Shadow of the Cypress

Thomas Steinbeck began his career in the 1960s as a motion picture cinematographer and photojournalist in Vietnam. Known for his short stories, Mr. Steinbeck previously published Down to the Soundless Sea, a collection of stories and a novella, which won critical praise. September 28 , 2010:  NOON -- Skip Horack Reading and Book Signing:     The Eden Hunter

Skip Horack will give a reading in the Steinbeck Center, fifth floor of the MLK, Jr., Library on Tuesday, September 28, at Noon.  Refreshments will be provided. The Eden Hunter is set in the pre-Civil War South and focuses on an African pygmy sold into slavery. Horack's previous book, a collection of short stories, The Southern Cross, won the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference 2008 Bakeless Fiction Prize.
