THE STEINBECK SOCIETY

With the support of the Steinbeck Heritage Foundation, Thom and Gail Steinbeck, and Steinbeck's literary agents McIntosh and Otis, the John Steinbeck Society supports scholarly research, outreach, and conferences on the author's work. The most recent conference took place in Sun Valley, Idaho, in 2006. A book of essays from that conference, John Steinbeck and His Contemporaries, was edited by Stephen K. George and Barbara Heavilin and published by Scarecrow Press in 2007

The Society supports the publication of Steinbeck Review and numerous activities aimed at improving the teaching of Steinbeck's life and works.
